Lundberg is “On the Radar” with the NRCC“We are looking forward to working with Kevin Lundberg, who has already proven himself by meeting rigorous benchmarks in the ‘Young Guns’ program that will position his campaign for victory,” said NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions (R-TX). “Kevin Lundberg’s dedication and experience positions him to advocate for pro-growth policies and fight the failed Democrat status quo in Washington. This will stand in stark contrast to the Democrats’ record of spending, borrowing and taxing that Colorado families know has failed.”
The ‘Young Guns’ program encourages candidates who have proven their ability to meet crucial campaign benchmarks to develop their campaigns further in order to achieve victory on Election Day. In achieving ‘On the Radar’ status, Lundberg has met the second set of these organizational and fundraising benchmarks and has already begun to establish himself as a strong contender.
A proud Colorado native, Kevin Lundberg’s family has lived in Colorado since his grandparents settled there more than 100 years ago. Lundberg has owned and operated a media and video production service for the past 31 years and served in the Colorado House and Senate. A passion for community service, he served on the Board of Trustees for Colorado Christian University, helped to found the Christian Home Educators of Colorado, and assists in teaching at the Galilee Church. Lundberg is committed to creating jobs, balancing the budget, and representing the Second District as a conservative voice in Washington.

Read More Senator Kevin Lundberg deeply regrets the death of American diplomats in Benghazi, Libya, and prays for their families and their colleagues who heroically represent America in diplomatic and military service around the world.
“What we have seen during our solemn commemorations of 9/11, and our prayers for international peace, is yet another round of deadly attacks by Islamic militants. The attacks on US embassies are tantamount to direct attacks against US soil, and the assassination of a personal representative of the President of the United States.” said Lundberg.
“These attacks appear to be premeditated and motivated by state-sponsored terrorists connected with the international Muslim Brotherhood and/or Al Qaida, who will falsely create any cover story they can to justify their acts of war and violations of international law. We should not lend any credence to the idea that an unknown film clip is the actual cause of terrorism. That seems to be a clear distraction away from ongoing militant Islamic actions to wage hostilities against US interests.”
“So far, President Obama has failed to react to the attack on the US Embassy in Cairo that suggests well-coordinated planning for political attacks against the United States.” Lundberg also noted: “At the same time, the President has snubbed face-to-face meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, apparently wanting to wait until after the elections to deal with the expansion of militant Islam in Egypt and the construction of nuclear weapons in Iran. Indeed, after supporting Arab Spring uprisings that vaulted the Muslim Brotherhood into power, it remains unclear whether President Obama will fully support Israel as an ally, will act to prevent draconian sequestration of funding to our own military during a time of international crisis, or will recognize our national debt as one of the greatest threats to our national security.”

Read More This is the date on the calendar which our generation will never forget. It has now been eleven years, but it seems like yesterday, for the threats that became harsh reality on that day are in many ways still with us.
On September 12, 2001 I wrote a letter to the editor for my local paper. As we give honor to the first responders who became the heroes, remember all who lost their lives, and continue to deal with the results of those violent attacks, I believe it fitting to review the full text of my words written eleven years ago:
“The recent terrorist attacks are senseless acts of cruelty which demand a swift and decisive response. I applaud the president for his calm courage and determination to cure this great wrong with appropriate justice. Yet despite all the best efforts to defend this great land and its free people, we should never be confident in our own strength.
“As I helplessly watched this catastrophe unfold on my television it reminded me how fragile life is, and how vulnerable we all are in today’s uncertain world. Many similar scenarios of destruction can be imagined and we all know there are far too many people who would willingly be the agents of such despicable acts. On September 11, we saw that chilling reality. These shocking events underscore the very significant spiritual dimension to all of life, including that which concerns our country as a whole and its public policies. At this time we should reaffirm our hope and confidence in the Creator of all, because it is only through God’s protective grace that life is even possible.
“Let us pray as a country. Pray for those directly impacted by this tragedy. Pray for peace in our land. Trusting alone in our human systems and security measures will always prove to be a false hope. We must be diligently doing what we can, from our human perspective, but also we must intentionally seek God’s forgiveness for past failures and seek His mercy and protection for the future. Only then can we build that strong foundation of which president Bush spoke. Only then can we as a nation truly be prosperous for our children and grandchildren in this challenging world of the twenty first century.”

This week a committee I serve on had the opportunity to stop the implementation of Colorado’s health care exchange.
Unfortunately the effort failed. Establishment politics over-ruled sound public policy. In a very direct way, this is why I am running for Congress.
I published the following statement after the committee vote was eliminated by the chair and vice-chair of the committee:
“I am deeply disappointed that the legislative review committee was not given the opportunity to vote on a $43 million federal grant proposal for Colorado’s health exchange.
“This committee, of which I am a member, has the statutory responsibility to review all grant proposals. The chair and vice-chair do have the authority to approve proposals without a committee vote, but that was surely never intended to give them a pocket veto for tough questions. Their prerogative to circumvent the committee should only have been used for proposals that are not controversial. If a grant proposal did require the scrutiny and vote of the legislative oversight committee, such as this $43 million grant, the committee should have voted.
“I will not back down from the tough issues, or the tough votes. That is why I am running for Congress. We need leadership willing to say no to programs that grow government and take away more and more of our freedoms. The Colorado health care exchange, which I voted against last year, will implement Obamacare. Had I been given the opportunity, I would have voted against this grant proposal, which could have stopped the implementation of the exchange. When I am given the opportunity to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, I will vote to repeal Obamacare.”

Our hearts and prayers go out to the individuals and families who have been forever changed by this cruel act.
Government will never change the fallen nature of mankind, but government must respond to this senseless act which has deprived so many of our fellow Coloradans of their right to life. I pray we will have compassion for those hurt so grievously, deliver justice fairly and swiftly to the killer, and not let the despicable actions of one madman strip another layer of liberty away from us all.

Supreme Court Ruling on ObamacareI will fight for ... Read More Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court has effectively granted Congress a blank check. At this moment in history when Congress has already saddled our children and grandchildren with unprecedented levels of debt, and continues to follow a path of unsustainable spending, this ruling makes it critical that we change direction in Washington. The U.S. Constitution was drafted in such a way as to place restraint upon federal powers, not vest Congress with unlimited powers.
I will fight for fiscal responsibility and push back against the ever-growing overreach of the federal government. Jared Polis and his friends in the Obama administration must be stopped from pushing their reckless fiscal policies and liberty squashing power grabs. Jared Polis has even doubled down by personally investing and profiting from private investments based on his political policies on health care, while everyday Colorado citizens are suffering from the failed policies of Polis and the Obama administration.
This ruling is a clarion call to send limited government, fiscally responsible representatives to Washington who will push back against an expansive federal government and its reckless tax and spend policies.

Now this race moves on to the main event – replacing the liberal policies of President Obama and his supporters like Jared Polis with sound policies based on the principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility.
After a spirited primary, the Republicans of CD 2 have decided who they want to represent them in Washington. At 10:20pm Senator Kevin Lundberg received a concession call from his primary opponent, Eric Weissmann. He congratulated Senator Lundberg on his win and also offered his endorsement. “I appreciate Eric’s endorsement. We both agree that the liberal policies of Jared Polis and the Obama administration need to go. Now it’s time to pull together and make the case to all of the people in CD 2 that fiscal responsibility must be brought back to Washington.”

My husband and I were thrilled to hear that Kevin is running for the 2nd Congressional District. Kevin has always been there when we needed him and listened to our concerns throughout the years at the Colorado State Legislature. Kevin is the type of person that does not make empty promises. His character is impeccable. You can count on him to represent you in Washington. I cannot imagine a better candidate for 2nd CD. Patti J.
More than ever we need principled people in public office. I am convinced that Kevin Lundberg has not only the principles but a backbone to stand by them as well as honesty and integrity. He has demonstrated to me that he is willing to listen and is interested in finding the truth. Jeanne H.
I have had many opportunities over the past 10 years to get to know Kevin Lundberg. I have always been impressed with the outstanding work he has done in our state senate and all the effort he puts forth to make Colorado a better place for us all. The humility he shows and his strong leadership skills are like no other candidate I have ever seen. He has a well-rounded and personal understanding of the world of politics as well as the one you and I walk through everyday. Anne M.
We strongly support Kevin’s candidacy. His views on the role of government aligns with ours. He visits Estes Park often and we have been impressed with his values and ability to connect with constituents. Larimer County, now in District 2, needs a representative with conservative values. We need to defeat Jared Polis! Bill and Janice N.

A new policy has been adopted which prevents any “canvassing” on the campus without specific permission from the school. “Canvassing,” for their purposes, is defined as handing anything to anybody on the campus.
Lundberg pointed out that even if permission is granted, the activity is still restricted to a limited number of locations on the campus. This prohibition applies to citizen’s initiative petitions, and anyone “…offering information about services or sales; and/or distributing any literature, flier, coupon book, sample, promotional item, coupon or any other tangible item.” All types of groups are being affected by this policy. Earlier this year, the Gideons International group was prevented from holding their annual Bible distribution project on the Boulder campus of CU.
Lundberg stated “Our state’s flagship institution of higher education should be a place where ideas are freely exchanged, not a place of censorship.”

To paraphrase a statement used in an election twenty years ago: It’s the economy, ladies and gentlemen.
The real issue, in light of the dismal condition of our economy, is putting taxes, regulations, “stimulus programs,” and all the other excessive government programs back into the very limited places they belong for a free and prosperous society.
We cannot afford four more years of Obama’s reckless policies.
Nonetheless, as I write this quick note I find myself in the first day of a special session called by the governor to give the Democrats one more shot at civil unions. They are using this as a political football to ramp up their fundraising.
I will continue to stand up for marriage and fight anything that radically alters our state’s policies on marriage and the family.
I will also continue my focus on the economy.
On this first day of the special session I cannot tell how the vote on civil unions will turn out. But win or lose, it is apparent that our governor, while the economy continues to languish, is willing to spend a great deal of our time and his political capital on this social issue.
The stakes are as high as they can be for this election. The dramatic turn of events in the past few days underscores the significance of the vote this November.
I need your help today to build the team and build the war chest we must have to beat Jared Polis in November. Please contribute what you can now and sign-up to volunteer, or request a yard sign if you haven’t already.
